Most contractors sell man-hours. We sell our work.
Clean panel installs. Honest bids. When something goes sideways — because sometimes it does — we don’t hide behind the change-order pad. When we catch our own mistake, we eat it. When the schedule shifts, we tell you what’s real and what’s optimistic.
Under promise. Over deliver. Every job.
Most electrical contractors calcify into one vertical and let corporate overhead compound. Oceans was built the other way — a lean shop staffed and structured for four categories of work: commercial, industrial and public works, new/remodel/renovation, and the automation and electronic solutions most contractors sub out to third parties. Dual-licensed as both a General Building (B) and Electrical (C-10) contractor, we can prime the project or self-perform the electrical scope — without the layered subcontracting that slows other shops down.
A comprehensive catalog covering commercial, industrial, public works, and automation — from tenant improvements and medical facility electrical to 35KV switchgear, arc flash studies, and fire & life safety. Plus every residential capability from panel upgrades to whole-house rewires. Every scope is self-performed, permitted through the AHJ, and delivered under a single point of accountability.
Established electrical contractors were built decades ago. Their overhead compounds; their responsiveness doesn’t. Oceans is what happens when a contractor is built new — with a bond line, but without the corporate layers.
Ownership signs off on scope, cost, and schedule directly. No BD manager to sell you; no junior PM inheriting the file after signature.
Dual-licensed: General Building (B) and Electrical (C-10), lic. #1105738. We can prime the project or self-perform the electrical scope — whichever gets you the cleanest execution.
Bids are priced against our own estimating system — not a generic markup on takeoff software. That’s how pricing stays sharp and change orders stay small.
The same shop that runs your commercial TI has in-house engineers doing machine analysis, custom control design, and diagnostic work on electronic and mechanical systems. No third-party engineering wait times. No finger-pointing between trades.
Oceans Electric was founded by Zvi Ben-Yishay, a Southern California electrical contractor with a second, longer-established residential-focused shop already in the market. The reason to start Oceans separately was structural: the surety, the accounting, and the operational rigor required to bid mid-scale commercial and public work don’t mix well with a residential-first PnL.
The result is a company built from day one for the work — with its own bond line, its own compliance stack, and its own field discipline. Every job goes through the founder’s desk. Every scope is priced against an in-house estimating system, not a plug-and-play markup. Every crew is led by a foreman who reports up to ownership.
Oceans is three years old as a company. The team isn’t. Between the founder, foremen, journeymen, and in-house engineers, this shop brings over 80 years of combined trade experience across every discipline it covers — from commercial rough-in to industrial controls to machine diagnostics. Company youth on paper. Craft depth on the tools.
That’s not a marketing angle. It’s the operating model.
Headquartered in Woodland Hills, we run trucks across five counties. Emergency service radiates from our HQ; scheduled work is dispatched to keep drive times minimal for your project.
Commercial, industrial, and public work demand paperwork discipline. We’ve built the compliance stack up front — licensing, bonding, insurance, and the safety programs that qualify Oceans for the eligibility lists that matter.
Whether you need urgent repairs, system upgrades, or ongoing maintenance, we’re equipped to manage projects of any size and complexity. Every inquiry gets a response from our team within one business day.
